African Pearl Salt is formed free of preservatives in Southwestern Africa at the edge of the Namib Desert. The unique climate in the area makes this salt special. Salt pearls are formed next to the dunes where the wind blows icy deep Antarctic water inland from the coast. Crystals of salt naturally shape into small balls and are collected as water evaporates from the salt flats. Each individual salt pearl is then collected by hand and carefully packaged.
